CHRISTOPHER KUBLAN
Christopher Kublan puts all of himself into the films he writes and directs.
Mr Kublan has been writing, directing and producing in film, commercials and music videos since graduating from Ithaca College with a degree in creative writing. He first wrote and directed Lionsgate’s ground-breaking sex addiction comedy, Giving It Up” starring Mark Feuerstein, Ali Larter and Dabney Coleman. His next project was the activist-oriented “Zerosome,” a dramedy about drug-addled millennials protesting the US-led invasion of Iraq, starring Gabriel Mann, Ruta Gedmintas and Kadeem Hardison. Most recently, Mr. Kublan directed and co-wrote (with lead Michael Rispoli) the mobsters-meets-Shakespeare comedy, "Friends and Romans,” which took home Best Picture awards at the Napa Valley and Boston International film festivals, and was released in theaters and later on Netflix to widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike.
Chris is a communicator, the kind of guy that can talk to anyone on their level - from actor to astrophysicist - with consummate ease and remarkable empathy. Chris has an encyclopedic knowledge of film history, a vocabulary as thick as an encyclopedia, and knows a lot about a lot of things that you might think aren’t connected.
He can explain to you how they are.
